1. Who are you? Sorca Hubbuck
2. What city do you live in? I’m based in Bathurst at the moment, so home is split between here and Newcastle – two complete polar opposites!
3. Besides making wonderful things with Big One Little One, what do you do? I’m studying Theatre/Media at Charles Sturt University, learning how to create my own work and collaborate with others, and I bartend on the side in order to manage being a poor student.
4. Who or what do you love? Seinfeld, Vietnamese food, and anyone with an affinity for bad 80’s pop music.
5. Describe the most recent time you fell in love with someone/something strange? I was just in Melbourne and I accidentally walked straight into the most beautiful man in a book shop, I fell in love with him straight away but didn’t say anything. I ran into him two more times when I was in the city (what’re the chances?!) but I spent too much time thinking about what a good story this would make if we ever got together, and I missed out on an opportunity to talk to him. Typical.
6. (Without giving away any secrets) how would you describe I might just take you on the AstroTurf? AstroTurf is the kind of show which you will relate to straight away, no matter who you are. It captures aspects of human experience and simulates real life situations. It’s a complex show that will make you feel awkward and happy and sad and nervous and overwhelmed all at once, and there aren’t many theatre experiences like this that can provoke thought and simulate life and make you feel changed at the end!
7. What song reminds you of AstroTurf?
I might just take you on the AstroTurf opens on Friday July 25 at Bathurst Uniting Church Hall. Tickets at trybooking.com/91594
