AstroTurf: The Interviews. #9 Emily Bennett

1. Who are you? Emily Bennett

2. What city do you live in? Melbourne

3. Besides making wonderful things with Big One Little One, what do you do? I write, design, perform and teach music in Melbourne.  Stalk me, write to me, or listen to me – http://www.soundcloud.com/missbennett

4. Who or what do you love? Sunshine (there’s not a lot of it going on down here at the moment).  I also love riding my push bike everywhere, especially in the sunshine.

5. Describe the most recent time you fell in love with someone/something strange?  Recording samples and score excerpts for I might just take you on the Astroturf has confirmed my love for the new H6 Zoom recorder.  Like, seriously.  I could take it to bed.

6. (Without giving away any secrets) how would you describe I might just take you on the AstroTurf? A threshold worth crossing.

7. What song reminds you of AstroTurf? That’s difficult to answer, because I purposely haven’t listened to much whilst writing the music.  But truth be told, I have been getting into a lot of American trumpet player, Jon Hassell’s album, Last Night The Moon Came Dropping Its Clothes In The Street, so that says something about what reminds me of Astroturf.

I might just take you on the AstroTurf opens on Friday July 25 at Bathurst Uniting Church Hall. Tickets at trybooking.com/91594
