Confetti: The Interviews / #8 Rachel

Two days until an opening, we are pumped. All our cast and crew are beginning their journeys to Melbourne, and bump in happens TOMORROW. This must be true!!

This pretty face you won’t see around Melbourne in the next three weeks, but she’ll be popping up in Sydney in our next season… it’s Rachel.

1. Who are you? I’m not a girl and not yet a woman. But I did just turn 26 so I suppose this makes me somewhere in between.

2. What city do you live in? Newcastle, but currently on tour so a bit of here and a bit of there – mostly Sydney.

3. Besides making wonderful things with Big One Little One, what do you do? I’m touring with Brainstorm Productions – a theatre in education company that takes shows into schools across the country. I also play the role in my own life of girlfriend, sister, daughter and friend.

4. What is the best feeling in the world? Being hit with the realisation that your problems in the grand scheme of things are really not that much of a drama. Coming back from overseas usually does this to me and I love it!

5. What gives you the most joy? Performing for young people and giving them an experience that they can hopefully learn from. I also love it when they think I’m only 16.

6. (Without giving away any secrets) how would you describe Confetti? Frivolous, fruity, fabulous fun for Fringe fanatics!

7. What are you excited about seeing at Melbourne Fringe? Confetti!!! But I can’t see it because I’m on tour!

Confetti by Big One Little One opens on Friday, September 20, at the Melbourne Fringe Hub, North Melbourne Town Hall. 7pm-9pm nightly, except for Mondays.
