Confetti: The Interviews / #1 Sarah

My goodness. Confetti opens at Melbourne Fringe in just four weeks!! And so, we thought we should introduce you all to some of the friendly, Confetti-covered faces you’re going to see in and around the show… starting with one of the nicer looking faces…

1. Who are you? I am Sarah Coffee.

2. What city do you live in? Melbourne, but I’ve only been here for six months. Before that I lived in Newcastle where I met the other big ones and little ones.

3. Besides making wonderful things with Big One Little One, what do you do? I am a writer, a researcher and a receptionist. I recently submitted a PhD about creativity and I also make theatre with the Paper Cut Collective. I spend the rest of the time watching bad TV and eating peas.

4. What is the best feeling in the world? Love and the kind of happiness that’s so hard to contain you think it’s going to explode out of your chest.

5. What gives you the most joy? Surprises. Being with the people I love. Shared moments of happiness, like being in the middle of a crowd where everyone is singing and dancing. I also enjoy making little booklets out of scrap paper at work.

6. (Without giving away any secrets) how would you describe Confetti? Confetti is like getting a new bike for Christmas.

7. What are you excited about seeing at Melbourne Fringe? I’m really looking forward to seeing They Saw a Thylacine, by Sarah Hamilton and Justine Campbell. It’s also at the Fringe Hub.

Confetti by Big One Little One opens on Friday, September 20, at the Melbourne Fringe Hub, North Melbourne Town Hall. 7pm-9pm nightly, except for Mondays.
